Be Siap Nyat Nyat

“Balinese Paste” that serves as its sauce. This paste is made from a rich blend of ingredients including galangal, candlenut, ginger, turmeric, shallots, garlic, and various peppers. To develop its deep flavor, the ingredients for the paste are finely sliced, blended, and then cooked over low heat for two to three hours.

Be Siap Mesisit with Sambal Matah

In our Balinese cooking class, you will master the art of creating Be Siap Mesit-Sit Sambal Matah, a celebrated island dish known for its incredibly fresh and vibrant flavors. This experience involves perfectly grilling chicken that has been simply seasoned with salt and pepper. The highlight of the dish is the iconic Sambal Matah, a raw Balinese sauce you will prepare yourself by combining finely sliced shallots, aromatic lemongrass, and pure coconut oil. The combination of the warm, savory grilled chicken with the zesty, uncooked sambal creates a brilliant contrast of texture and a burst of authentic Balinese flavor.
